高中英语书面表达训练

摘 要 新编高中教材(以下简称新教材)编写的体系帮助我们摆脱了以往的困境,大大有利于全面培养学生听、 说、读、写英语的四种技能。新教材从第一册开始就编排了大量的书面表达训练,这些训练由浅入深分三个层 次推进,形成了一种“由易到难、由简到繁、循序渐进”的训练模式。教师在复习备考中更应针对这一问题,不断改进教学方法,尽力帮助学生提高英语书面表达能力。

一、英语书面表达中普遍存在的问题

经过这几届高中英语教学的实践,我认为目前学生在书面表达中出现的一些共有的问题有:①逻辑条理不清晰。文章读来让人感觉莫名其妙,东一句西一句,缺乏对整篇文章结构的把握。②选词造句上受汉语影响较深。很多学生就直接将作文要求中出现的汉字翻译成英语,时态、语态、语气根本没概念。③语句连贯性差,句与句之间缺少必要的连接词,从而使得文章内容生硬枯涩。④强弩之末, 每每练到最后一部分书面表达时,有些学生就干脆不写了。

二、如何提高学生书面表达能力的教学建议

新编高中教材(以下简称新教材)编写的体系帮助我们摆脱了以往的困境,大大有利于全面培养学生听、 说、读、写英语的四种技能。新教材从第一册开始就编排了大量的书面表达训练,这些训练由浅入深分三个层 次推进,形成了一种“由易到难、由简到繁、循序渐进”的训练模式。

1.对于第一层次的训练,除了教科书里的大量的填空练习以外,还可采用:

(1)句型训练。写作训练从词法、句法知识入手,结合课本里的重点单词、短语,进行五种基本句型的 造句练习。例如:

1.S+V→The First World War broke out in 1914.

2.S+V+O→We're leading a happy life.

3.S+V+P→The mixture tastes terrible.

4.S+V+O(I)+O(D)→Mr Brown will give us a talk this aftern-oon.

5.S+V+O+C→We should make our classroom clean and tidy.

(2)改写对话。以第一人称或第三人称的口气讲述并写下每单元第一课的对话内容。例如:〔Unit 4 L esson 13(选自学生作业)〕

Jane and Betty are going on holidays in a few days'time.Betty is going off to Guangzhou by p lane next Thursday evening.She is staying with her friend Kate Klarke.Jane is going to Xi'an.She 's leaving of Friday.She's going with her parents.She's going by plane,too.

在这篇改写的短文里,只要在理解原对话的基础上,给主要句子换上一个主语即可。随着学习知识内容的 增加和循序渐进的写作训练,理解主题、抓住要点的阅读能力会逐渐增强,词语、句型的运用能力也会大大的 提高。再如在Unit 23 Lesson 89里,同样是关于holidays的改写,就能运用学过的知识写出如下的句子:

1.Mr White Suggests visiting the town of Aswan.

2.Bob Suggests that they visit the High Dam.

3.But Mrs White prefers shopping to visiting places.

2.第二层次的训练通常包括:

(1)缩写课文。新教材所选的课文题材广泛,体裁丰富。我们要好好利用这些有利的因素与条件,进行 写作训练。具体做法:先对课文做好充分预习并根据内容找出关键句,从中划出关键词,然后根据关键词来复 述课文,最后把复述的内容写下来。例如:〔Unit 21 Lesson82,要求:谈谈马克思如何学外语(选自学生作 业)〕。

(2)回答问题、联句成文。课本每单元的第二课及Exercise 1是这种训练的最好的素材。

(3)仿写与编写。仿写,就是利用已知信息“改头换面”地写一段话。编写,就是根据所阅读的课文, 编写出一段对话。

3.第三层次的写作训练难度较大,通常可采用:

(1)机械写作。常用的应用文如通知、书信等都有其特定的格式。我们要初步了解、掌握这些特定的格 式及写作技巧,读懂具体内容,然后把内容套进特定的格式中去,就是一篇条理清楚的书面表达了。如写通知 ,要掌握:1.通知的对象、地点、时间及要做的事情;2.要注意的事项;3.写上"Don't be late"或"Be on time."等一类句子。例如:

Class 2 and Class 3 are going to plant trees on Western Hills tomorrow.We'll take a bus to go there.Please bring lunc-h and water with you.Remember to wear old clothes as we'll do a lot o f hard work.We will meet in front of the school gate at nine o'clock.Don't be late.

(2)小组作文。这种方法尤其适用于看图写作。做法是同学间按照好、中、差兼顾的原则分成几人一小 组进行讨论并列出英文要点,接着个人分头准备(如每人讲述一、二个要点或一、二幅图);再经过小组讨论 纠正并加上“启承转合”词、句以联段成文;然后小组之间交换并进行评议,有条件的可进行集体评改。 这种训练方法的优点是:1.“团结作战”能消除畏惧心理;2.开展讨论可促使大家积极参与;3.交换评议 或集体评改有利于互相学习、共同提高。

(3)独立写作。经过一系列的循序渐进的写作练习后,就能对难度适中的材料进行独立审题并限时完成 了。例如:下面是一篇“一件小事”的记叙作文。笔者所教的高一学生根据自己去一家电影院看电影的途中所 经历的一件小事用英语写的一篇作文,词数100左右。

三、书面表达平时训练题材要多样化

先要提供学生各种文体的范文,如:书信、通知、人物介绍、场景记叙、看图作文、表格作文、开放性作文等。讲明各种文体的要求,再命题让学生仿写,各种文体都要训练到位。

四、字帖,严抓书写规范

总之,指导学生在备考英语书面表达时注重策略,通过长期的书面表达训练,使学生的英语书面表达的基本功不断得到巩固与提高,从而切实提高学生英语的整体运用能力。

摘 要:英语的书面表达主要是考察学生对英语知识的综合运用能力,也是学生综合英语素养的体现,因此,引导学生提高书面表达的能力是十分必要的。但是,从目前初中英语课堂教学的反馈中我们能够看到,存在部分英语教师不知道如何对学生进行英语书面表达教学,促进学生能力提高的现象,基于此,笔者从自身实践教学的经验出发,从单词的学习、仿写的练习以及文章的修改等方面指出进行书面表达能力培养的策略。

英语是初中课程教学中的重要组成部分,英语书面表达的教学在初中英语教学中占有显著的位置,因此,初中英语教师应当引导学生从学习单词出发,构建书面表达的基础,从仿写中逐步实现书面表达能力的提升,从二次修改中实现针对性的提高。

一、学习单词,构建基础

书面表达构建的基础是单词,如果学生的单词基础量小,那么学生很难自主完成一篇英语文章的写作,也不能将自己所要表达的内容使用英语进行描述。因此,在进行初中英语书面表达能力的培养中,教师应当引导学生进行单词的有效学习,主要是单词的含义、词汇的用法等内容,用来构建书面表达的基础。但是,单词的有效教学是要讲究的方法的。

例如,在进行《Are you going to play basketball?》这节课的单词教学中,为了使学生掌握play这个单词,教师可以采用思维导图的形式,帮助学生构建单词的基础。首先,教师引导学生根据play的单词词性,进行思维导图的刻画,分别是“动词”和“名词”;之后,教师引导学生从词性出发,进行汉语翻译的延伸,其中“动词”包含“玩”“演奏”“扮演”“演出”等含义,“名词”包含“游戏”“戏剧”“比赛”等含义;紧接着,教师引导学生针对词性和单词的含义,将play with sb/sth;play (at doing)sth;play (sth)(with/against sb )/sb(at sth)等短语添加到思维导图当中,促进学生认知到play的不同短语构成;最后,在每个短语的后面,教师引导学生将例句写下,从而帮助学生进一步深化对play这个单词的认识以及其短语的用法等内容。教师引导学生使用思维导图的形式将单词的相关内容进行联系,能够有效促进学生构建单词基础,为提高书面表达能力奠定良好根基。

二、引导仿写,提升能力

“模仿理论”中提出,在社会当中所存在的事情,不是发明就是模仿,其中模仿是最常見的,强调了“模仿”的重要性。在进行初中英语书面表达能力培养的过程中,教师也应当意识到“模仿”的重要性,引导学生对优秀语言的表达进行模仿,从而使学生在不断的仿写中,实现书面表达能力的提升。

例如,在培养学生书面表达能力的过程中,教师可以引导学生对教材当中的《The summer holiday are coming.》这节课当中的句子进行仿写。就拿题目来说,学生可以对题目当中的句式进行分析,找出其中的句子构成“主语+Be doing”;之后,学生在进行书面表达过程中,也可以借鉴该句式进行语句的表示,从而提高书面表达的能力。不难看出,在进行初中英语书面表达能力培养的过程中,教师可以引导学生以仿写的方式对教材当中的好词佳句进行模仿,从而提高学生的语感,使学生在不断的模仿中,实现书面表达能力的提升。

三、二次修改,针对提高

文章的修改是初中英语书面表达能力培养中不可缺少的一项环节,在当前培养学生书面表达能力的过程中,教师应当采用恰当的方式,帮助学生进行文章的二次修改,从而实现针对性的提高。

例如,教师在进行学生书面表达的批改中,往往使用“nice”“good”等简单单词进行评价,这样学生很难根据教师的意见进行文章的修改,也就桎梏了学生对文章进行二次修改。因此,在引导学生进行二次书面表达的修改中,教师首先要做的就是对学生的文章进行细致的评价,指出学生文章中“书写”“写作角度”“高级结构”“语法”等方面中的优势,肯定学生写作的能力,之后,教师对学生文章中存在的“逻辑”“语言表达的方式”等方面的问题标注出来,并给出“时态使用有误,建议修改”等针对性的意见,促进学生根据教师的意见进行针对性的修改。除此之外,教师还可以引导学生以互评互改的形式,引导学生对班级中其他学生的文章进行评改,同时在自己的文章中获得同学的修改意见,进一步深化对自己书面表达的认知,并根据同学的修改意见进行针对性的改进。学生根据教师和同学的修改意见进行书面表达的更正,能够找到自己书面表达中存在的问题,从而进行针对性的改进,实现书面表达能力的提升。

总而言之,在进行初中英语书面表达能力培养的过程中,教师应当帮助学生构建书面表达的基础,进行单词的有效学习,对教材中的句式进行仿写,同时,教师要引导学生对文章进行二次修改,从而使学生逐渐实现书面表达能力的提升。

英语书面表达是高中英语学习中的一大难关。许多同學在写英语书面表达时,由于语言知识掌握不到位,审题不细致,导致书面表达质量不高,失分严重。那么如何写好英语书面表达呢?对此,笔者总结了以下几点写作方法,以期对同学们的英语写作有所帮助。

一、细致审题,提高表达的准确性

审题是书面表达的第一步。只有审题准确得当,才能写出切合题意的好文章。在写英语书面表达时,同学们要做到细致审题,明确写作中心要点,从而提高写作的有效性和准确性。

同学们需分清写作主次,列好写作提纲,确保写作有序进行。例如,当前,陪读现象已然成风,许多父母离开家乡、放弃工作、租房陪读。他们认为这样可以更好地照顾子女,让子女有更多的时间好好学习。对此,你有何看法?请写一篇短文。本题是一道就当前社会现象发表观点看法的作文。在写作时,同学们可以这样审题:1.定人称和时态。由题意知,人称:第三人称和第一人称;时态:一般现在时态和一般将来时态。2.明要点,列提纲。(1)提出现象:①父母离开家乡;②放弃工作;③租房陪读。(2)阐述理由:①他们能更好地照顾孩子;②孩子有更多的时间好好学习。(3)发表自己的看法。

二、熟知习惯用语,增强表达的得体性

任何文章都有自己独有的语言特点,书面表达亦是如此。因此,同学们要注意熟知书面表达的常用习惯用语,从而增强书面表达的得体性。

以议论文为例,通常而言,在开篇开门见山地指出某一社会现象时,可以这样总起,引出下文:Recent,1y we have held a heated discussion on whether weshould...(最近我们就是否应该……,进行了热烈的讨论);Recently…has attracted considerable attention(最近,…引起了广泛关注);At present,…has become avery common matter(当前,……已经成为一种普遍现gt);Most of usmayhave such experience that…(我们中许多人可能都有……这样的经历1;Nowadays,there are many…(目前,出现了许多……)

在阐述不同的观点时,可以这样表达:People takedifferent views on this question,some maintain that…,however others believe that,一(对于这个问题,人们有不同的看法,有些人坚持认为……,但另一些人认为……);Some people think that…but other people don’tthink so,They claimthat…(有些人认为…,但有些人不这么认为,他们声称……);Quite a few people believethat…,however others think differently(有相当一部分认为……,然而,另一些却有不同的想法。)

在表达个人观点时,不妨运用如下句型:In myhumble opinion,…has its advantages and disadvantages(以我愚见,……有它的优点和缺点);In my point ofview,,…has its strengths and weaknesses,(在我看来,……有它的长处和短处);As far as I’m concemed,the/former/latter opinion is more acceptable,(就我而言,前者/后者观点更容易被接受)。

三、巧用过渡词汇,加强表达的连贯性

语言的连贯性和逻辑性也是获得高分的关键。在进行英语书面表达时,同学们若能巧用贴切恰当的过渡词汇,则可以确保表达通畅自然,语意衔接连贯,逻辑清晰,结构紧凑。

一般来说,归纳总结看法时,可以使用in a word,in summary,in short,jn conclusion,to sum up等;表示转折关系时,可以使用however,whereas,but,al,though,nevertheless,on the contrary,in spite of等;强调某个信息时,可以运用actually,certainly,especial,1v,ofcourse,in otherwords,in fact,no doubt等;表达更多信息时,可以用also,besides,fimhermore,more-over,in addition,what’s more,in addition等;表达自己个人观点时,可以用Personally,in my opinion,in meview,asforme,asfar asIalTl concemed等。例如:Per-sonally,owning a computer will benefit us a lot,but wemust use it properly(就个人而言,拥有一台电脑将使我们受益匪浅,但我们必须正确使用它);What’smore,they believe such sacrifices can urge their kids tostudy harder,(此外,他们相信这样的牺牲会使他们的孩子更加努力学习);On the contrary,they think it isworthwhile,(相反,他们认为这是值得的。)

总之,英语写作并不难,只要同学们平时多阅读、多实践、多积累、多总结,注意夯实写作基础,掌握写作技巧,自然就不难提升语言表达能力,从而轻松攻克英语书面表达关。

A recent survey shows that in today’s society, Chinese young people’s life goals have become more diversified than before. When young people are asked what they will struggle for, more than half of the respondents choose to earn enough money to buy a house and a car for themselves. In addition to this practical goal, some people, about 44%, pick up their life goal as improving their life quality or to be rich while 23.9% of the respondents are simply satisfied to have a good job. As for how to achieve their life goals, most of them prefer struggling to realize their dreams. The survey shows that the society is making progress and people’s life goals have become more practical.

A recent investigation shows that nowadays the young in China have more diversified goals than ever before. Hopefully the misbehaving students will learn their lessons and when they return their behaviour will be better.

If I was in charge of a school I would also be very strict with students who don’t behave well. I would first warn and then suspend students who interrupt the learning of others or disrespect their teachers. But I would also visit the poor student’s home and discuss the problem with his paents so we could find a solution.

二是题材的熟悉性,既书面表达的取材主要涉及中学生所体验到的日常生活。

三是内容的控制性,它通过图画,表格,要点等来限定考生的写作内容,使得考生在写作时自由发挥的余地较小。

四是题型的稳定性,由上所述,近年来考试的命题形式主要以图画,表格形式出现,有时以提纲,要点形式出现。

五是要求的渐进性,既成人高考对书面表达的要求在逐年提高,由原来的要求写对,到以前的要求写好,再到现在的要求写出文采,使用高级词汇和复杂结构等,并对由此而产生的错 - 1 -

误采取了宽容的态度。

以30分作文为例,一般评分标准:

A.内容充实,主题突出,覆盖所有知识要点,应用了较多较高级的词汇和语法结构,有效得使用了语句间的连接成分,结构紧凑,给25-30分。

B.内容较充实,能表述作文要求,语法结构和词汇能满足内容要求,有一些错误但不影响全文理解,全文连贯,给21-25分。

C.内容基本充实,尚能表述作文要求,句子简单但能表达内容要求,给15-20分。

D.漏掉或未能写清主要内容,有些内容与主题无关,语言错误影响了读者对写作内容的理解,缺少连贯性,信息未能清楚地传达给读者,给10-15分。

E.明显遗漏主要内容,严重离题,不知所云,字迹潦草,给1-10分。

从高考评卷及平时测验题,学生在做书面表达题时,得分率较低,卷面普遍存在的缺点:1)文不对题(文体格式不规范);2)离题太远(抓不到要点,该说的不说,不该说的说的太多);

3)词不达意(有的甚至用汉语标注或留空);4)病句太多(时态、语态、人称、数等语法);

5)卷面不工整(字迹潦草、乱涂改、添插箭头满篇飞)。如何指导学生克服上述缺点,少犯错误,提高该题的得分率?因此教师在引导考生复习备考突破该题型时要注意如下几点:

一、遵循循序渐进原则

对书面表达题型的训练要从简单到复杂的顺序进行,可以从一些简单的看图作文-记叙文着手;可以从单句-复杂句着手;可以从单段-多段;从不分段到分段等着手对学生进行训练。

二、点拨技巧,事半功倍

分析要求和阅卷情况,在平时的训练中要让考生养成良好的做题习惯如:

1.养成审题的习惯

1)审题时要明确体裁,掌握格式

学生的书面表达往往存在不讲究逻辑、文体和格式的现象,所以很有必要让学生明确常见的几种文体和格式。就中学阶段,最常见的 文体有:应用文(书信、通知、日记、便条)、记叙文和说明文。近十年书面表达内容题材不外乎上述三种文体。若是记叙文,要弄清事件的时间、地点、人物、原因和结果;若是说明文,要了解说明的主旨以及说明的顺序;若是以图画形式提供情景,即看图作文,首先应看懂每幅图的意思,还要弄懂几幅图之间的关系。

2)抓住要点,一一对应。

能否找出覆盖主要内容所有要点是得高分的关键,评分标准一般分五个档次,要点越齐全,得高分 的可能性就越大;反之,若欠缺要点或描述与表达内容要点无关的,得分当然低。

一般要求找出5--6个要点,可先用汉语或用keywords列出,

2.养成谋篇布局,谨慎用词的习惯

1)谋篇布局是审题的结果,也是写好文章的关键。一篇优秀的文章都是层次分明,思路清晰,要求达到此标准,必须依据提示进行分段构思,合理布局。

2)选词造句,点石成金。

书面表达要求用100词左右写出包含5--6个要点的短文。从近几年高考英语参考答案看,一般都以8-10个句子组成一篇文章。若用较少于8句话来表达,则句子容易复杂冗长,容易失控;若用多于10句话来表述,则句子零乱与琐碎,文章缺乏整体感。且大多数用简单句,少数用并列句和复合句。

因此,在教学中首先应对简单句五种基本句型以及“there be存在结构”等进行强化训练,然后对并列句、复合句进行适当的训练,使学生获得了扎实的句子结构基础知识,从而从根本上为迅速提高书面表达能力打下了扎实的基础;在平时训练中提醒学生在做题时,要善于避生就熟,当遇到某一难以直接表达的要点时,不妨变通一下,进行“曲线”表达。

3.养成合理安排,联句成文的习惯

书面表达不仅仅是“句子堆积”,要注意文章的连贯性和逻辑性。如何使文章上下衔接自然、紧凑。用好各种连接词,对写出一篇有“英语味”的文章很重要。要求学生按照合理的顺序或按一定的写作线索选用适应的连接词,将句子连珠成串,使各句连成结构紧凑、层次分明、语义连贯的短文。因此,在引导考生复习备考时,教师可介绍一些常用连接成分。如下面表格中是写作中经常用到的一些连接词:

4.养成检查修改,卷面整洁的习惯

做书面表达时,力求用词准确。作文写完后应认真阅读,检查文章中的拼写和标点错误、语法错误、逻辑错误等;检查词数是否符合要求;检查内容要点是否全面,删繁就简,使表达更加精炼,措词更加恰当。定稿后应认真誊写,要求书写规范、正确、美观,并保持卷面整洁。从参加阅卷者都有这样的体会:要在比较短的时间里,阅读完一篇作文,当看到那些字迹潦草卷面不整洁的,心情就特别烦,评分可能比想象的要低;而看到那些书写规范、卷面整洁的,就倍感爽心悦目,有可能得到比较高的分数,这也是情理之中的事情。因此,在训练时,学生要养成书写工整、规范,卷面整洁的习惯,在做高考题时,才不致书写潦草、卷面不整洁,从而导致丢失本来不该丢的分。
