As we all know,smoking is not only bad for our health,but also bad for our society.therefore,our govrenment has publish an ban about forbid people smoke at the public place form 2011.1.1,including the indoor pulic placces,indoor public workplaces and pulic transport means.this ban will first come into power in the medical system.

In order to make this ban come into power,we should do what we can to reduce the behavior of smoke around us.we can put up some posteres at public places to aware people this is no-somking place.Perhaps the most important ,and most easyist thing that we can do is we won\'t be a smoker.

It has a long and hard way to forbid somke,but I believe that if everyone follw this ban and take a googd care of their behavior,we will have a clear sky soon.

Should Smoking in Public Places be Banned?

Nowadays many countries in the world have passed laws to ban smoking in public places. Some smokers claim that their rights are infringed if smoking is forbidden in public places. However, most non-smokers regard the ban as good news. As far as I’m concerned, smoking should be banned in all the public places such as restaurants, theaters and public squares.

On the one hand, smoking is harmful both for smokers themselves and others. It is reported that every year smoking causes millions of death around the world. On the other hand, smoking pollutes the air. Just imagine that you sit in a restaurant full of smoke, how can you enjoy your meal there? Besides, smoking is bad for the elevation of a country’s image in the world.

I believe if smoking is banned in all the public places, most of us will breathe in more fresh and clean air. And the health condition of all the people will be greatly improved.

A survey about smokers in a middle school tells that although 90% of all students never smoke, 3% of them often smoke and 7% sometimes do. In other words, 10% of the students smoke. That’s terrible.

As we know, smoking is harmful to our health. Every year, thousands of people lose their lives because of it. Smoking not only does harm to your health, but also wastes money. Because, a fire may be caused by cigarette ends. It’s a pity to learn that one ends in death by smoking.

2015年8月31日 世界卫生组织今天于北京媒体通报表示，中国新修订的《广告法》即将于9月1日生效。该法案中增加了对烟草营销广告的新限制内容。世卫组织对此表示欢迎，指出这是挽救数百万人免受使用烟草制品危害的重要一步，并呼吁中国尽快实施全面禁止烟草制品广告的法案。

世卫组织在31日的通报中表示，从9月1日起，新法案将禁止在大众媒体、公共场所、公共交通工具和室外烟草产品广告，同时还禁止向青少年任何形式的烟草广告。而在此前，设在路边广告牌的广告和在某些公共场所的广告是被允许的。

通报表示，烟草行业在零售点的广告主要是针对青少年人群。根据中国疾病预防控制中心的调查数据，4%的中国成年人表示过去30天中注意到零售店里的烟草广告。而在13-15岁的青少年中，40%以上的青少年表示曾注意到零售点里的烟草广告。这个数字是成年人的10倍。

通报表示，烟草产品的营销广告无异于推销死亡和疾病。世卫组织驻华代表施贺德表示，禁止各种形式的烟草广告、促销和赞助，是政府为保护公众免受使用烟草成瘾的危害所采取的最具成本效益的措施之一。他同时指出，新法案强调了保护青少年免受烟草广告的影响的重要性。由于大多数烟民都是在年轻时开始吸烟的，青少年尤其容易受到烟草营销的影响。阻止青少年从小开始吸烟就像接种疫苗一样，可以给他们提供终身保护。

31 August 2015 World Health Organization （WHO）released news at Beijing that China newly revised Advertisement Law would take effect on 1 September， which set new restrictions on tobacco commercials. WHO was pleased with this change and said this was an important step to protect millions of people from tobaccos. WHO also urged Chinese government to pass tobacco-commercials-ban bill.

According to the news， since 1 September， tobacco commercials would be not allowed to appear at mass media， public places， public transportation or outdoors， and any kind of tobacco commercials were banned to teenagers. Before this， billboards or commercials in some public places about tobacco had been legal.

Retail stores of tobacco mainly targeted at teenagers. According to the data from China Center Diseases Control， 4% ofadults noticed tobacco commercials at retail stores in the past 30 days. While among teenagers aged between 13 and 15， more than 40% of them paid attention to tobacco commercials at retail stores. Latter number was ten times of the former.

Tobacco commercials were selling diseases and death to people. Dr. Bernhard Schwartlander， the representative of WHO to China， said that prohibition of all kinds of tobacco commercials， sales and sponsor was one of the most cost-effective means for the government to protect the public from being hurt by tobacco addiction. Moreover， the new law highlighted the importance of preventing teenagers from influence of tobacco commercials. Teenagers were vulnerable to tobacco sales for a lot of smokers started when they were young. Stopping them smoking was like vaccination， which could provide them life-long protection.
